Copper, nickel soften on subdued demand

New Delhi, May 2 (PTI) Copper and nickel prices fell by Rs 5 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on muted demand from consuming industries.

Traders said tepid demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, mainly weighed on copper and nickel prices.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4×4) fell by Rs 5 each to Rs 340 and Rs 785-790 per kg, respectively.

Following are today’s metals’ rates (in Rs per kg): Zinc ingot Rs 104-110, Nickel plate (4×4) Rs 785-790, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 340, chadri deshi Rs 295.

Lead ingot Rs 93, lead imported Rs 99, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148.
