A tweet from Congress leader Udit Raj has now become a controversial remark and has sparked outrage, especially from the Hindu community and the propagators of Hinduism. Udit Raj's tweet on how Kumbh Mela should not be hosted if the state cannot own Madrassas in Assam has turned it into a big political fight. BJP lashed out at the Congress, asking apologies from Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, and calling this tweet an insult to the Hindu Aastha.
Dr Udit Raj deleted the tweet after it sparked controversy, but he later put it back up stating that his views are personal and his alliance with a political party should not be dragged into it. Reactions from various leaders have poured in after this row, wherein the leaders continue to assure that in the next Kumbh, the double amount would be spent to make it an even more grand event. Reactions from Sanatan community have also come in for the same.
