In an interview with Times Now Congress's spokesperson, Ravindra Sharma, defended the party's recent alliance with Gupkar Declaration which questions Indian's sovereignty over the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Rebuffing the criticism by the opposition to join hands with anti-national forces, Sharma states that the alliance does not have anything to do with vote politics. He says this electoral alignment was necessary to keep the common political rivals away. Congress's national credential cannot be questioned based on this according to the spokesperson. The party respects parotitic sentiments. However, the party "needs no certificate from BJP or RSS" added the spokesperson. Stay tuned for more on this debate.
