The political battle between the two major Indian parties – the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party – keeps getting uglier and uglier.
Now, the Uttar Pradesh Congress cadre has released a few posters that depict Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, essentially insinuating that the three are robbers.
The release of the poster coincides with the second anniversary of demonetisation which the Congress claims disrupted the Indian economy and was a cruel conspiracy to help the rich industrialists friend of PM Modi. The Congress is also holding nationwide protests over the note ban.
Youth Congress leaders too are busy sharing the offensive posters on Twitter.

‘Thugs of Hindostan’ is an action-adventure Bollywood movie starring Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles. The movie was released on Thursday.
While the posters have been doing the rounds and being spread by Congress workers and supporters, there is no comment emanating from the Congress leadership condemning the posters which are in poor taste and degrade the political discourse in the country.
