Congress' Nana Patole becomes Maharashtra Assembly Assembly as BJP nominee pulls out

On Sunday, Congress' Nana Patole was unopposed elected Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly as BJP took back its speaker candidate.

In an all party meet on Sunday, the BJP took back it's speaker candidate, Kisan Kathore's nomination making Maha Vikas Aghadi's Nana Patole unopposed.

In an attempt to reach out to the agrarian communities in a government that is 'top-heavy' with western Maharashtra and Maratha leaders, Congress on Saturday nominated its former Kisan Wing leader Nana Patole for the Speaker's post.
