Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav hit back at Rahul Gandhi just days after the Congress president termed the SP-BSP-RLD alliance in Uttar Pradesh an opportunistic one. Launching a scathing attack, Yadav said, “The Congress is the biggest betrayer party in the country.”
Referring to a recent review petition filed by "a Congress leader" in the Supreme Court about an old disproportionate assets case against Mulayam Yadav and his family, Akhilesh Yadav, according to a Hindustan Times report, said
"“The Congress is no different from the BJP. It was in the Congress regime that the CBI probe was initiated against Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav), my wife Dimple, and me. Then the case was closed; now again a Congress leader has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court (in the original disproportionate assets case). We do not fear CBI or ED.” " -
Earlier in the week, Rahul Gandhi had taken a dig at the Akhilesh Yadav-Mayawati-Ajit Singh alliance by calling them opportunistic and afraid of standing up to the BJP. During a rally at Badaun, Gandhi had stated, “The CBI and ED have their keys. They could not speak freely due to their fear but I can speak freely.”
