Cong to Contest Polls Alone in UP, End of Road for Akhilesh-Rahul

In the state Assembly Elections in March, the Congess-SP coalition had managed to secure only 54 seats.

Following the failure of the Congress-SP alliance in Uttar Pradesh, Congress UP chief Raj Babbar said on Monday that the party will contest the local body elections alone.

The Congress leader said this after a meeting with party workers and ministers. He also spoke of asking the members to pay attention to local body elections.

It should be noted that in the assembly elections, the Congess-SP coalition had managed to secure only 54 seats. Out of the 105 seats the Congress contested for, it only won seven.
