Commissioning of an indigenous aircraft carrier to be a tribute to country's independence

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who landed in Kochi on Thursday, would pay a visit to the Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) today to check on the progress of the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) being built there. On commissioning, the Carrier will be named INS Vikrant. Admiral Karambhir Singh, the Chief of Naval Staff, accompanied the Defence Minister. The IAC was designed by the Indian Navy's Directorate of Naval Design (DND) and is being built at the CSL. It is currently in the advanced stages of construction and will begin Sea Trials in the coming months. To know more, watch the full video!
