Kochi, Jan 24 (PTI): The coaches of the Thiruvananthapuram-Shoranur Venad Express decoupled from the engine at Ernakulam north railway station on Sunday, railway officials said.
The incident occurred at around 10.30 AM when the train was going from Thiruvananthapuram to Shornur, the officials said.
The decoupling took place when the train was approaching the Ernakulam station.
The train left after attaching the coaches with the engine properly.
This resulted in a 20-minute delay, they said.
'The train was moving at a low speed and was about to stop at the railway station when the incident took place. It was a technical issue that will be highlighted at the proper level,' a railway official said.
Officials said there was no chance of accident or injury to passengers due to decoupling as there was an automatic braking system in place. PTI TGB NVG NVG
