CM Uddhav Thackeray says ‘Aurangzeb was not secular’; Congress calls it a ‘Divisive agenda’

A fresh war of words has raged from Maharashtra where Congress and Shiv Sena have been at a standoff over renaming Aurangabad, asserting that ‘Aurangzeb was not secular’, Congress has called it a divisive agenda. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray on the other hand, has backed the name change of the city, and has categorically stated that Aurangzeb was not a secular leader which is why the name of the city should be changed. Ram Kadam, a BJP leader stated that Uddhav Thackeray should get the Aurangabad’s name changed. He further stated that many from the Congress are against the name changing row.
