Citizenship Row reignites: IUML moves Supreme Court over Centre's notice to help minorities

IUML has now moved the Supreme Court against the Centre's notice which now allows minorities living in certain countries to apply for citizenship in India. The notice was issued in order to provide relief to the persecuted minorities in countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. The issue of citizenship is now once again coming to the fore after the notice was issued. The Pak Hindus have been denied basic COVID care due to the lack of citizenship papers but the IUML has now raised red flags. The Centre is now questioning if politics is over and above the pain of those suffering as minorities in other countries.
