The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is raising a Special Tactics Wing (STW) to enhance combat and tactical advantage against terrorist attacks and other threats at vital installations in the country.
An STW in Hyderabad will be established for tactical capacity building to have an enhanced combat and tactical advantage against the terrorists.
Being raised on the lines of SWAT, the STW of CISF will cater to the needs of hypersensitive airports, Delhi metro and sensitive units in Naxal-affected areas.
The role of bomb disposal squad and quick reaction team will be focused to counter the aircraft hijacking and other contingencies like armed attack and IED threats, said CISF Director General, O P Singh.
It will enhance the crisis response and tactical capabilities of the force. The sector wise mobile tactical training team will also be trained by this wing.
