Cindy Crawford halts 'too young' daughter's modeling career

Washington, Feb 16 (ANI): Cindy Crawford has put her daughter's budding fashion career on hold despite the 10-year-old girl's recent success in modeling.

Crawford and Rande Gerber's daughter Kaia, posed last month in the first children's modeling campaign for the Versace fashion house, which just opened a store in Milan.

But the 45-year-old model announced to "The Daily" that her daughter won't be appearing in any more campaigns for the next seven years.

"At this point, she's too young to pursue a career," ABC News quoted her as telling the publication.

"There aren't even a handful of jobs for a 10-year-old girl," she said.

But she does give Kaia the green light to follow in her footsteps later on in life.

"But if she's 17 and wants to try it, of course, what can I say?"

Crawford's strict stance may come as a surprise after she described her daughter's modeling as a "fantastic experience" and said in a campaign press release: "I'm so thrilled that Kaia was chosen to be part of the first Young Versace Campaign. ... I have so many fond memories of the times I spent with Gianni and Donatella." (ANI)
