New Delhi, Apr 5 (PTI) Red chilli and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today in view of increased buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.
Further, fall in supplies from producing belts also supported the upside.
Red chilli and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 5,100-13,600 and Rs 7,300-10,600 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up chilli and turmeric prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs): Ajwain (per kg) 120-180, black pepper (per kg) 640-790, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 720-740 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 780-1,070.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,330-1,430, cardamom (colour robin) 1,210-1,230, cardamom bold 1,230-1,250, cardamom extra (bold) 1,330-1,350 and cloves 550-650. (MORE)
