After the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) had asked Zydus Cadila to come back with more data related to immunogenicity and safety, the Indian multinational pharmaceutical company is set to provide original data this week to the DCGI. If everything goes well, ZyCoV-D could be the first vaccine to be approved for adolescents. Zydus has also claimed that its vaccine works against the Delta variant. According to the manufacturer, the trials carried out in more than 50 clinical sites spread across the country, during the peak of the second wave of COVID-19 have shown the vaccine’s efficacy against the new mutant strains, especially the delta variant.
