Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti appoints BB Vyas new Jammu and Kashmir chief secretary

In a major administrative reshuffle in Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti replaced BR Sharma with BB Vyas as the next chief secretary of the state. Mufti also shifted 14 IAS and 17 KAS officers and 5 SSPs.

In a major administrative reshuffle in Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti replaced BR Sharma with BB Vyas as the next chief secretary of the state.

BR Sharma, a 1984 batch IAS officer, was appointed as Advisor (Administrative Affairs) to the chief minister.

The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Mufti in Jammu on Friday.

Mufti also shifted 14 IAS and 17 KAS officers and five Senior Superintendents of Police.

OTHER APPOINTMENTS

Dr Mandeep Bhandari was appointed the new Divisional Commissioner of Jammu in place of Dr Pawan Kotwal, who has now been made Commissioner, Health and Medical Education.

Deputy Commissioner of Jammu Simrandeep Singh was appointed Municipal Commissioner of Jammu in place of Manmohan Singh.

Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was removed as Directorate of Information and appointed Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri. The Directorate of Information post is now lying vacant.
