Chicken Dumplings Recipe: Easy Recipe to Make Chicken Dumplings at Home

Chicken dumplings are little pockets filled with minced chicken. Here is the recipe to make chicken dumplings at home.

Do you like momos? If yes, then you will love chicken dumplings. These little pockets of minced chicken are love. You can also make it with chopped vegetables like cabbage, carrots and mushrooms. Chicken dumplings are easy to make and you don’t have to have a steamer. You can use your pan to make the perfect dumpling. Dumpling can be described as a dish with meat or vegetable filling with a dough wrapped around. The dough is usually made of all-purpose flour. Momos and empanadas are a type of dumpling. Dumplings are either steamed or fried. This recipe to make chicken dumpling will require a combination of frying and steam. Here’s how you can make chicken dumpling at home.


2 cups of plain flour

Water to make dough and for steaming

Salt to taste

500 grams of minced chicken

1 cup of chopped spring onion

1 capsicum (chopped)

1 small cup grated ginger

1 small cup coriander leaves

2 tablespoons of corn flour

1/2 a cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon of oil


Take the flour in a large bowl and add salt to it. Now, add some water to the flour and knead it to a soft dough. Let the dough rest for about 30 minutes.

Take the minced chicken in another bowl and add the chopped spring onion, chopped capsicum, grated ginger, coriander leaves, corn flour, soy sauce and oil. Mix the ingredients very well and keep it aside.

Now, take the dough and cut it into small, equal portions. Then roll out all the portions using rolling pin and some plain flour for dusting.

Place a teaspoon of the minced meat mixture in the center of each of the rolled out dough and bring the edges of the dough together to form a dumpling. Seal it by pressing the edges using a fork.

To cook the dumplings, place a pan over a medium flame and pour in some oil.

Place the dumpling in the pan and let it fry on both the sides for a couple of minutes.

Pour half a glass of water into the pan and close the lid. Let the dumplings cook in steam. Once the water evaporates completely, your chicken dumplings are ready.

You can have it with mint chutney or spicy schezwan sauce. Do try this recipe at home.
