Chhattisgarh Will Impose Total Ban on Liquor Soon: CM Raman Singh

The Chhattisgarh CM said the ban will be put in place in a phased manner.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh said on Tuesday that the state government will soon introduce a complete ban on liquor, CNN News18 reported.

Singh's announcement came after he met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during his two-day tour of the state.

The ban will be imposed in a phased manner, Singh said. “Prohibition will first be imposed in villages having a population of 3,000 or more,” India Today quoted the Chief Minister as saying.
