The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) has announced that power will be suspended in parts of Chennai on Thursday for carrying out day-long maintenance work in the city.

The city will face a power shutdown from 9 am to 5 pm, with supply expected to resume before 5 pm if the work is completed.

As per a press release given by the company, the following neighbourhoods in Chennai will be affected:

Gerumbakkam: Multi Industrial Area, Balaji Nagar, Jayaram Street, Sankaralinganar Street, B T Nagar, Shreepuram, Sathyavani Muthu Street, VGN - Phase I, II; Manju Foundation, Pooja Diamond, Thiru Vi Ka Street, Anna Street, Tarapakkam Salai, Pachaiyamman Nagar, Bharathi Nagar, Leelavathi Nagar, Srilakshmi Nagar, Visalakshi Nagar, Mani Nagar, Thiruvalluvar Street, M K nagar, Parts of Kundrathur Main Road, Boomadevi Nagar, Puliyanthoppu, Ambedkar Street, Rapid Nagar, Palani Nagar, Golden Industrial Area, Babu Jagajeevan Ram Street, Sivaraj Street, VOC Street, Parts of Periapanicjerry and Sakthi Avenue.

Kundrathur: Parts of Kundrathur Main Road, Parts of Vineswara Nagar, M S Nagar, Bhell Nagar, Jayendra Saraswathy Nagar, Amman Nagar, Rajalakshmi Nagar, Kamatchi Nagar, Sathyanarayana Puram, Shanmuga Nagar, Jaya Lakshmi Nagar, Aarthi Nagar, Raja Raja Nagar, Parts of Bajanai Koil Street, Moulivakkam, Mangadu Road, A D Govindharaj Nagar, Ranga Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Murugan Nagar, Stalin Nagar and Jothy Nagar.

Karambakkam: Parts of Kundrathur Road, Re Nagar - 1st , 2nd, 3rd Streets; Pillayar Koil Street, Jaya Nagar, Mosque Street, Parts of Mount Poonamallee Road, Officer’s Colony, Parts of Arcot Road, Samayapuram Main Road, Padmavathi Nagar and Sriram Nagar.
