Chef Spikes Vegan Meal With Meat, Netizens Furious Over the Audacity

You won't believe what the chef said after she spiked the vegan meal!

When it comes to food, almost everyone has strong opinions and preferences. Some love non-vegetarian food, some are staunch vegetarians, while some prefer to go the vegan way. And it is important to respect an individual’s choice irrespective of the type of food they like. But a chef at a Shropshire’s restaurant probably doesn’t agree. Laura Goodman, the chef and co-owner of Carlini in Shifnal, Shropshire, proudly posted a post on Facebook which revealed that she had spiked the food of a vegan, and the vegan doesn’t even know it. Laura states that she spiked the food of the ‘pious, judgemental vegan’ who had booked to eat at the restaurant. Laura’s revelation received a lot of negative feedback on social media, as users strongly criticised her action.

Both vegetarians, non-vegetarians and vegans unanimously criticised Laura for what she did. When asked if Laura put meat in the food of the entire group of vegans, she clarified saying, “Actually I should have said ‘they’re’ not a vegan… not ‘she’s’.” Laura adds that it all started with one of the group members asking her to telephone them over Christmas, to discuss the dietary requirements of their guests within a set time frame. “It ended with me wondering why I’m explaining this simplistic post to a pious c*#t,” she says. Sonam’s diet and fitness trainer Radhika Karle shares the secret behind her svelte figure.

Her posted invited the wrath of netizens, who said they would never do such a thing to anyone. Users pointed out that while eating out at a restaurant, people place their trust on the chef, and it is wrong to misuse this trust. One commenter, Robbie, wrote on the post: “You feed vegans (who have trusted you and presumably paid for their meals) non-vegan food, boast about it on social media in a group that represents quite a broad cross-section of society, and get roundly chastised. You then decide that the problem must be with all the people in the group, rather than your own reprehensible behaviour?” Users also said that spiking a vegan’s food with meat is equivalent to spiking a non-alcoholic’s drink with liquor.

Here is how the netizens responded:

In the past, there had been news reports of a barista spiking the drink of a customer. Reportedly, the barista had used cows milk to make a customer’s soya latte, as a result of which, the customer collapsed and started fitting right after the first sip. Thanks to Laura’s little adventure, the restaurant’s ratings have dipped drastically. Vegans have responded by leaving negative reviews on the restaurant’s TripAdvisor page. Shropshire Star reports that Laura Goodman has tendered her resignation from Carlini today, following the social media uproar.
