The Uttarakhand administration has postponed the Char Dham Yatra with immediate effect till further instructions, reversing its late-night decision and complying with the state's High Court injunction. As a result, the projected Yatra, which was set to commence on July 1, has been canceled. Despite the Supreme Court's judgment prohibiting the Char Dham yatra from taking place this year, the state administration released a new set of COVID instructions for the pilgrimage, stating that the first phase of the yatra will begin on July 1 and the second phase on July 11. The state High Court on Monday delayed the state Cabinet's decision to allow a limited number of pilgrims to participate in the Char Dham yatra and ordered live broadcasting of the Char Dham shrines.
