Centre writes to 18 states & UTs: Tocilizumab will now be provided in the allocated quota

The Centre has received a fresh stock of Tocilizumab, a life-saving and Covid drug. Tocilizumab is one of the expensive drugs and has been available in the black market for high prices. The drug's sole distributor is Cipla in India. The Centre will distribute the drug in accordance with the allotted fixed quotas. Maharashtra has been allotted the highest quantity 800 followed by Delhi at 500 units of Drugs. The states will further distribute them to government and private hospitals. There are no separate allocations for private hospitals. Earlier the drug went out of stock in the nation and now has managed to replenish the drug.
