Central team to assess crop damage in Maharashtra: Shah to guv Mumbai, Oct 31 (PTI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah onThursday said a central team will be sent to Maharashtra toassess the damage caused to crops due to unseasonal rains inparts of the state.
Shah has conveyed this to Maharashtra Governor BhagatSingh Koshyari, according to an official statement issued bythe Raj Bhavan here on Thursday evening.
The Centre's response came after the governor calledup Shah to apprise him about the damage to crops caused byfloods and unseasonal rains in Maharashtra in the recentweeks, the statement said.
In a related development, Shiv Sena leader AadityaThackeray along with a party delegation met Koshyari onThursday evening and sought his intervention in providingrelief to farmers and fishermen affected by post-monsoonrains. PTI NDRSY RSY
