India, Nov. 20 -- Conceived in 1853, Manhattan's Central Park is spread over 843 acres. It was an irregular terrain of swamps and bluffs, punctuated by rocky outcroppings but now has sprawling water bodies, green meadows, stunning bridges, performance centres, educational facilities, gardens, examples of classical architecture, weather station, a fort of 1812 vintage, statues of iconic figures and the oldest public monument in North America, The Obelisk.

It also has a 6.5 acre zoo housing over 1,400 animals of more than 130 species from tropic, garden and polar temperature zones. And above all, Central Park is a park with skating rinks, carousel, swimming pool, baseball fields, tennis courts and last but not the least, picturesque beauty of the natural green landscape.

Visitors can also opt for horse and carriage tours, walking tours, bike tours and pedi-cab tours. (Source: www.centralpark.com)
