A man is seen assaulting and injuring a minor girl in Nehru Nagar, Mumbai. She alleges that he also molested her, according to a case filed by the Mumbai Police on Saturday. The incident, which took place on 17 October, was caught on CCTV camera, which shows the man ruthlessly beating the girl, following which she falls unconscious amidst a crowd of onlookers who do not intervene.
According to her statement, the girl was on her way to her tuition class when the perpetrator began to hurl stones at her. When she protested, she says he molested and then beat her.
The accused had earlier passed inappropriate comments at the victim, she says, and at that time, her sister had complained to his mother about the incident. However, his mother’s response was allegedly, “Nobody is innocent.”
VictimHe did pass comments once before. I informed my family about this. My sister went to complain about this to his mother. His mother told her ‘nobody is innocent’.
The report, which was filed at the Nehru Nagar Police Station, was filed by the Police under IPC sections 324 ( voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation). As of now, the identity of both victim and the accused are not public.
