Casualties Feared in Buckinghamshire Mid-Air Collision Between Aircraft and Helicopter
London, Nov 17: At least three people are feared dead in a mid-air collision between an aircraft and a helicopter over Buckingham on Friday. As per a report, both the aircrafts were two-seater carriers and collided around midday near Waddesdon village. Rescue operations were underway, reports claimed.
Police and ambulance were rushed to the spot and they reportedly said there were ‘a number of casualties’, Business Insider claimed confirming both the carriers originated from Wycombe Air Park. Debris of the aircrafts have been found, reports claimed.
According to an official statement by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB), they are sending a team to probe the collision. “The AAIB is sending a team to investigate a mid-air collision involving an aircraft and a helicopter near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire,” it said.
According to The Guardian, the Buckinghamshire fire and rescue service immediately sent seven vehicles which included fire engines and urban search and rescue vehicles.
Reports also said there could be disruption in traffic movement owing to the rescue operations in the area.
