Cardamom prices down on subdued demand

New Delhi, Apr 7 (PTI) Cardamom brown prices fell by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today owing to easing demand from retailers and stockists amidst adequate stocks.

Cardamom brown-Jhundiwali and Kanchicut prices declined by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 710-730 and Rs 770-1,060 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said, low demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down cardamom prices.

Other spices ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

Following are today’s quotations (in Rs): Ajwain (per kg) 120-180, black pepper (per kg) 640-790, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 710-730 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 770-1,060.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,330-1,430, cardamom (colour robin) 1,200-1,220, cardamom bold 1,230-1,240, cardamom extra (bold) 1,330-1,340 and cloves 550-650. (MORE)
