The series is made up of five 50-minute long episodes each one profiling a different wanted criminal. Except these five people are the world's most wanted criminals, each one sought after by the likes of the FBI, CIA, MI5 and other powerful security services. Each one is still currently on the run, with some of them in hiding for over 20 years.
Each episode looks at the alleged crimes and history of the individuals, along with interviews with police and various law enforcement agencies about their efforts to capture them and how some of them had managed to stay on the run for decades.
One case looks at Russian mobster Semion Mogilevich, who was almost captured once at a restaurant but managed to flee ten minutes before the authorities arrived, after allegedly being tipped off by someone from within the police force. He was described by the FBI as "the most dangerous mobster in the world," and according to assassinated Russian secret service agent Alexander Litvinenko, had ties with Vladimir Putin back in the 90s.
The other four episodes cover Mexican drug lord Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, Northern Irish woman Samantha Lewthwaite nicknamed 'The White Widow' of one of the 7/7 London bombers, Sicilian mafia boss Matteo Messina Denaro, and 85-year old Félicien Kabuga who is accused of participating in the Rwandan genocide.
