Calcutta HC asks Mamata Banerjee govt to reinstate security for Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari

Ruling in favour of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, the Calcutta High Court has ordered the West Bengal government to reinstate Adhikari's withdrawal security. Suvendu Adhikari is Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's former protégé who has now joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and is the Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal. Although he has been provided with Central security by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Suvendu Adhikari cited several reasons such as going for campaigning etc where he would need state security as well.
