Srinagar, May 1: The poster of Burhan Wani, the terrorist who was killed by security forces last year, surfaced in a Pulwama college on Monday. Reports say that some students came with covered faces and displayed the poster at the administrative block of the college. The incident took place in the Government Degree College in Pulwama, where students also raised Pakistani flags last week.
The college was set to reopen after days of unrest due to raising of Pakistani flags on campus. However, the premises have been cleared yet against and students have been asked to vacate the college. The movement in and around the college premises has been restricted, say reports.
Last week, six students and three policemen were injured in clashes at the college premises after students raised Pakistani flags.
There has been an unrest in Pulwama since April 15, when 50 students were injured in fighting with security forces after objecting to the setting up of a security post outside the college.
Burhan Wani was gunned down on July 8, 2016. The Kashmir valley has been on the edge since his killing.
