Budget Session of Chhattisgarh assembly ends

Raipur, Apr 28 (PTI) The Budget Session of the Chhattisgarh Assembly ended here today.

Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal adjourned the House sine die late this evening.

The Speaker said that this was the eleventh session of fourth Chhattisgarh assembly which started from February 27 with the Governor s address.

During the period from March 31 to April 27, the House was on vacation and on April 28, the House resumed again for a day to discuss and subsequent passing of Chhattisgarh Goods and Services Tax Bill, 2017, he added.

The session witnessed a total of 22 sittings, wherein, 145 hours of discussion was held, he said.

During the session, notices for 3,145 questions were received, of which, 1,037 were starred and 988 un-starred questions were accepted for discussion, he said.

Altogether 594 call attention motion notices were received, of which, 138 were accepted while 423 rejected, he said.

Eight bills were passed in this session, he added.

The Monsoon Session is all likely to be convened in the first week of August, 2017, he added.
