Budget 2021: FM Nirmala Sitharaman lays out Agri reforms

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman mentioned the third pillar of the Union Budget 2021 as the agricultural sector mentioning that the government is committed to to the welfare of India's farmers. Sitharaman announced that the Agri credit target is of Rs 16.5 lakh crore this year stating that MSP procurement will continue at a steady pace. She further proposed enhancing allocation to a rural infra development fund to 40,000 crores from 30,000 crores. FM emphasised that the infra Agri fund will be made available to APMCs Another 5000 crore has been allocated towards microcredit. Additionally, 1,000 more mandis will be integrated with e-NAM.
