British motorcycle brand Triumph showcased three models of its iconic Bonneville series at the Auto Expo. The new generation Bonneville – The Street Twin, The Thruxton R and Bonneville T120 – will go on sale in the next few months in phases.
Then Street Twin, priced at Rs 6.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) gets powered by a 900-cc engine. It has a distinctive sound and is the entry level model of the Bonneville series. It delivers peak torque of 80NM. It’s a rugged looking bike which Triumph hopes will entice bike enthusiasts. It will be launched in March 2016.
The T120 is a classic Bourneville which retains the characteristics of its 1959 model. Powered by a 1200cc engine, it churns out torque of 105NM. Priced at Rs 8.70 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi), it is available in Lava Red, Cranberry Red, Aluminium Silver, Jet Black colours. It will be launched in April 2016
The Thruxton R is the most powerful bike from the Triumph stable. A 1200cc high powered engine which delivers 112NM torque at 4950 RPM. The company hasn’t revealed the price of the Thruxton and the bike is expected to hit the Indian roads in July 2016.
