Gor Mahia’s chances of progressing to the quarter final of the Caf Confederation Cup have been boosted following the suspension of three Rayon Sports players.
The Confederation of African Football (Caf) slapped the Rwandan side with heavy fines over indiscipline issues after a section of their players were involved in a post- match brawl with USM Algers.
Gor Mahia, who are joint top will host Rayon Sports in the final group D match on August 19 but the Rwandan side will have to do minus Yannick Mukunzi, Christ Mbondi and Kassim Ndayisenga.
The trio will miss a cumulative seven games with Mukunzi bing handed a three match ban in addition to $10,000 (Sh1 million) fine.
Mbondi and Ndayisenga have been handed two years ban and $5,000 (Sh500,000) fine each.
The trio will also miss Rayon’s final game against Young Africans (Yanga) of Tanzania.
Gor Mahia and USM Alger are joint top with eight points while Rayon Sports are third on the log with three points, same as Yanga.
