After the Bollywood actress shared on social media her horrific experience of her flight from Delhi to Mumbai, where she was allegedly molested by 39-year-old businessman Vikas Sachadev, the Mumbai Police moved to arrest him under Section 354 of the IPC (assault with intent to outrage a woman’s modesty), and Section 8 of the POCSO Act. The accused is under police custody with a decision impending. However, the wife of the accused claimed that that wasn’t the way of things and that it was all nothing but a publicity stunt. And now, a co-passenger of the actress has come out in support of the accused, saying that he is innocent.
According to a report in the Financial Express, the co-passenger said that the only fault of the accused was that his legs were on the actress’ armrest. “I saw Sachdeva doze off immediately after he settled in his seat after boarding the flight at Delhi. His fault was he kept his legs on the armrest, which was wrong. I did not see him misbehaving. He also apologized when the actor shouted at him when the flight landed at Mumbai airport and the matter was settled then,” he added. While interacting with Spotboy E, the alleged molester’s wife said, “This girl has been influenced by fame and wrongly accused my husband.” Questioning the actress’ late reaction, she said, “Why did she not raise an alarm then and there? Why did she tweet two hours later? she had her mother for company. Despite that, the two ladies chose not to make any noise, why?”
Explaining her husband’s story, the wife added, “My husband was coming home from Delhi. His mamaji had passed away and he was not in the right frame of mind. He was feeling very low and asked for a blanket. He wanted to sleep.” She further added, “My husband is a family man. We have a 9-year-old child, he can never misbehave with any lady in any manner.”
