Love Your Bhasha
India has a billion speakers, talking to each other in over five hundred mother tongues. Some languages share the same words, others have none in common. Some mother tongues have Sanskrit as their root, others have Persian. Some mother tongues are spoken only in the cold mountains of Ladakh, some can only be heard in the wilderness of the Andamans.
And yet, every one of these languages finds a home in India.
On Independence Day, The Quint is celebrating India’s different tongues with you, our audience.
The initiative is called BOL
Bol. Because, now more than ever, we need to speak to each other.
Bol. Because, we need to build bridges with the bricks of our words.
Bol. Because, if there’s no dialogue now, there will be nothing left to speak about later.
The Quint is giving you a chance to express yourself in your mother tongue. Tell us why you love your mother tongue.
Sing. Write. Perform. Send us articles, poetry, WhatsApp videos, text messages.
RANT. RAVE. CRITICISE. PRAISE. Anything.
Just don’t be silent.
SHOW US HOW MUCH YOU LOVE YOUR BHASHA.
