Blue Whale Challenge: Class 10 Boy Commits Suicide in West Bengal
Kolkata, August 13: A class 10th student from West Bengal’s West Midnapore fell prey to the infamous online game ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ and committed suicide. As per a media report, the police said that the boy named Ankan De, was last seen playing the online challenge using his father’s desktop at his office in Anandapur Town.
The computer on which the boy played the game was seized by the police and has been sent for a forensic examination to ascertain the links through which Ankan reportedly got addicted to the game. “Initial evidence suggests that the suicide is linked to the Blue Whale Challenge. We are investigating the matter,” a senior police officer was quoted as saying.

The police said that on Saturday, the 14-year-old boy went to take a bath, but when he didn’t open the door for more than an hour, his family broke open the door only to find him partially wrapped in polythene sheets.
The Blue Whale Challenge game claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy Manpreet Sahans, in Mumbai a few weeks back. Manpreet ended his life by jumping off a building. Before jumping he took a photograph with a captioned which read, “The only thing you’d be left with is a picture of me.”
In Indore, a class 7 student on Thursday tried to commit suicide by jumping off the third floor of his school building apparently by taking up the infamous Blue Whale Challenge. But the boy was saved by his classmates.
