Black Fungus cases on a rise across India; SOS alarms for drug raised

At a time when India is reeling under the second & more potent wave of COVID-19, there is a sudden surge that is now being reported in the Black Fungus cases. The sporadic surge in several states has now led to an acute shortage of the drug that is used to treat Black fungus. Earlier during the oxygen crisis & shortage of Remdesivir, a similar kind of situation arose, with the life-saving drug being unavailable at the medical stores and which led to the hoarding of the drug. The two complaints that are coming to light is the shortage of Black Fungus injection and that is available, it is being sold at a much higher price. The government has chopped out a strategy with the manufacturers in regards to ensuring enough supply of the injection.
