TTV Dinakaran to Float Political Party in Madurai on March 15
Chennai, Nov 18: Hours after the raid at the residence of former chief minister J. Jayalalithaa, Sasikala’s nephew and rebel AIADMK leader TTV Dinakaran alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Tamil Nadu government led by the Panneerselvam faction is behind the raids. Dinakaran on Saturday accused Prime minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley behind the searches by the sleuths including Friday’s raid at Poes Garden.
Addressing the media following the raid, the sidelined AIADMK leader said Modi and Jaitley is trying to destroy his family. “Arun Jaitley and Prime Minister Modi are trying to destroy our family using the IT department, which is under their control. We are not scared and we will not run away”, he said.
He also said that only a laptop, few pendrives and party related letters were recovered by the I-T in Friday’s search. “We don’t know why Jaya’s room was not raided, may be they went in search of huge amount of money, gold and other materials, but what they got was only laptop and pendrives,” he added.
Dinakaran also hit out at the prime minister’s claim that Jayalalithaa was a close friend of his. He said if such was the case why the PM did not visit the ailing former CM before her death.
Denying the accusations made by Dinakaran, State Fisheries minister D Jayakumar said they had nothing to do with the raid on Friday. The raids are very painful, he added.
Claiming that the people are by their side and the ‘traitors’ will be taught a lesson, Dinakaran said the raids are insulting to Jayalalithaa.
