Samajwadi Party leader and gangrape accused Gayatri Prajapati has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days, on Wednesday. He was arrested from Lucknow, on the same day, after having absconded since 17 days.
Three more accomplices including his son and nephew have already been detained by the UP Police in connection with the case.
The BJP accused the Samajwadi Party of shielding Prajapati. Suggesting police inaction, BJP leader Yogi Adityanath said, “All those who were protecting Prajapati will not be spared.”
