BJP slams remarks made by Azad, Soz; Hafiz Saeed backs Congress

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday slammed senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, for his statement that anti-terror operations in Jammu & Kashmir under the BJP-PDP government killed more civilians than terrorists, saying that people supporting terrorism were the happiest to hear it.

Meanwhile, Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba backed the Congress leader’s comments, saying that it was of the same opinion as Ghulam Nabi Azad. The LeT also said that Governor’s Rule had been imposed in J& ‘to sabotage the infrastructure and commit massacre of innocents’.

The Congress has yet to condemn the statement made by Azad, although it has distanced itself from the remarks made by another Congress leader Saifuddin Soz who said that Kashmiris want independence.
