BJP ministers remove red beacons post Centre's move

Just a day after the Centre announced removal of red beacon on the vehicles used by ministers, a number of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have hailed the move and went ahead with the decision. On Thursday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Uttar Pradesh Power Minister Shrikant Sharma were seen commuting in vehicles without red beacons. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was also seen removing the red beacon himself in Valsad. Yesterday, the Centre announced a notification under which only emergency vehicles will be permitted to use red beacons from May 1.
