BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand was arrested in connection with the alleged sexual harassment of a Uttar Pradesh law student, reported news agency ANI.

The law student had last given a pen drive containing 43 videos to the SIT to support her allegations after the sleuths asked her to submit whatever evidence she had against the former Union minister. The SIT had taken the woman to Chinmayanand's bedroom and had collected evidence.

The SIT arrested the former Union minister from Shahjahanpur. Chinmayanand has been taken for a medical examination. The case is being investigated by the SIT set up by Uttar Pradesh police on the directions of the Supreme Court.
