Rahul Gandhi committed sin of linking Hindu culture with terrorism, says Amit Shah
Continuing with the scathing attack on Congress and its president Rahul Gandhi, BJP president Amit Shah on Saturday demanded an apology from Gandhi for misguiding and defaming the country in the name of Hindu terrorism.
"It has been four days since an anti-terror court acquitted five persons, including Swami Aseemanand in the 2007 Mecca Masjid blast case. Rahul, along with the likes of SK Shinde, P Chidambaram, Digvijay Singh and others have committed the sin of linking our (Hindu) culture with terrorism. The country will not forgive him and where ever he goes, people will seek an apology from him," said Shah, who was addressing a rally in the Gandhi bastion of Raebarelli.
Shah went ahead to state that the time has come for the Raebareli and Amethi region to develop rather than carry on believing false promises. "Ever since Independence, the region has sent big faces to Parliament on the cost of development. The people, since then, have only witnessed familyism and we are here to let you get rid of it," the BJP chief added.
"And now when the state has a progressive government under the leadership of Adityanath Yogi, we promise to make it the most developed and a model Vidhan Sabha for the country," he added.
Shah also went ahead to claim that the BJP is all set to form the next government in Karnataka. "At present, we have 20 governments across the country working under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Let me assure you that on May 16, we will form the 21st government in Karnataka," claimed Shah.
Meanwhile, the agenda of the "untimely" public rally was to welcome the Panchavati family to BJP. It is to be mentioned that this influential family which currently holds an MLC seat, an MLA seat and a jila panchayat Adhyaksh seat has long been associated with the Congress and decided to switch sides amidst allegations of improper behavior and misconduct by some Congress leaders.
Yogi, who also accompanied Shah, went ahead to claim that the state government will ensure a rapid development in the region. "We are committed to make UP the most developed state in next few years and it is a promise that Raebarelli and Amethi will not be left apart and will be on our top priority," he said.
The region has already started witnessing increased political activities for the past few days as central minister Smriti Irani visited Amethi a few days ago followed by Rahul and Sonia Gandhi this week.
