BJP elects N. Biren Singh as CM candidate for Manipur

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the name of Nongthombam Biren Singh as its chief ministerial candidate for Manipur on Monday. Addressing the mediapersons, Biren Singh thanked BJP president Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior leaders of BJP. Singh added that he left Congress due to misgovernance, sure that BJP will give good governance to Manipur. The 56-year-old, who was the face of BJP in Manipur, will meet Governor Najma Heptullah soon to stake claim to form the government.
