Bikaner land scam: ED raids Mahesh Nagar's premises in Faridabad
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday conducted raids at the premises of Mahesh Nagar in connection with the Bikaner land scam. According to sources, during the raids in Faridabad, incriminating documents were seized by the agency.
Earlier, Mahesh Nagar's close associate, Ashok Kumar, was arrested by the agency under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Mahesh Nagar is associated with Ms Skylight Hospitality Private Limited. The agency suspects that in four cases of land purchase in Bikaner by this firm Nagar was the authorised representative.
Along with Ashok, one more key accused in the case, Jaiprakash Bagarwa, was arrested by the ED.
According to sources, Kumar, a close associate of Nagar purchased land in the same area using the "power of attorney" of others.
The ED had registered a case under the PMLA in this matter in 2015, taking cognizance of FIRs filed by the state police after the local tehsildar had complained of alleged forgery.
The agency is investigating the purchase of 275 bigha land allegedly by the company in the Kolayat area of the border town of Bikaner in Rajasthan, few years back.
The ED had also attached assets worth Rs 1.18 crore of government officials and others in connection with the case under PMLA.
