Big Brother UK star lands US reality show gig

Big Brother UK star Hughie Maughan has landed a US reality show gig.

The former Dancing With the Stars: Ireland contestant has been confirmed to be joining season 37 of The Challenge, which sees reality stars from across the globe compete against veteran players to win a ginormous million-dollar cash prize.

This particular season will be titled The Challenge: Spies, Lies and Allies and star Big Brother 17 contestant Hughie Maughan (via Entertainment Weekly).

Hughie appeared on the British reality TV series in 2016, with the bisexual traveller finishing as runner-up in his season, which was won by Jason Burrill.

Previously, he dated fellow Big Brother star Ryan Ruckledge, with the pair eventually splitting after four years together in August last year.

Set to premiere next month, The Challenge season 37 was filmed in Croatia and will consist of 19 episodes.

Appearing alongside Hughie this season will be Too Hot to Handle's Kelz Dyke and Love Island US contestants Priscilla Anyabu, Lauren Coogan and Jeremiah White.

Previous The Challenge UK exports include TOWIE's Nicole Bass and Georgia Harrison and Ex on the Beach stars Ashley Cain and Kayleigh Morris.

The series has also featured Geordie Shore stars Kyle Christie and Zahida Allen.

The Challenge: Spies, Lies and Allies will premiere on Wednesday, August 11 on MTV in the US. A UK airdate is TBC.
