Bhoomi Box Office Collection Day 3: Sanjay Dutt – Aditi Rao Hydari Continues Steady Growth; Earns Rs 7.48 Crore
Bhoomi was in the news for being Sanjay Dutt‘s come back film. There was a lot of hype ahead of its release and the excitement among the fans was pretty visible. However, the film didn’t live up to people’s expectations and has thus not been doing that well at the Box Office. On its release on September 22, the film earned just Rs 2.25 Crore on Day 1 followed by a steady growth on Day 2, with the film earning Rs. 2.47 crore bringing the total to Rs. 4.72 crore. Today, the third day’s earning are out and according to the box office numbers announced by Trade expert, Taran Adarsh, the film has again kept the momentum going by earning Rs 2.76, bringing the total to Rs 7.48 crore.
Bhoomi is based on the relationship between a father (Sanjay Dutt) and daughter (Aditi Rao Hydari) and on how he faces all odds to avenge her rape from the culprits. This is the first time that Dutt has worked with Omung Kumar, who has directed films like Priyanka Chopra starrer Mary Kom and Aishwarya Rai-Randeep Hooda starrer Sarbjit. While Mary Kom won accolades at the time of its release, Sarbjit failed to impress the audiences and tanked at the box office despite starring actors like Randeep Hooda and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. With Bhoomi off to a sluggish start, it seems its going to be no exception to Sarbjit. (ALSO READ: Does Sanjay Dutt’s Late Night Visit To Salman Khan Suggest All Is Well Between Them?)

One of the reasons for its slow performance could be that it released along with Rajkummar Rao starrer Newton and Shraddha Kapoor starrer, Haseena Parkar. Perhaps, that’s why despite it releasing in 1894 screens across India, it still couldn’t do well at the Box Office. Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt has started filming for his next film, ie the third installment of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s franchise, Saheb Biwi and Gangster, in Bikaner Rajasthan. In the film, Dutt will be seen in the role of a gangster alongside Jimmy Sheirgill, Mahie Gill, Kabir Bedi , Nafisa Ali and Chitrangda Singh in pivotal roles.
