NIA has now stepped in the Bengaluru riots case, it is being reported that the NIA will investigate all the FIRs in which the UAPA act has been invoked.
The Bengaluru riots took place on August 11 after a provocative Facebook post. Several hundred arrests have been made so far in the case and UAPA has also been slapped on several of the accused.
There was a case filed in the High Court to take over the two cases of DJ Halli voilence is concerned. Around 280 people have been booked under UAPA. NIA is likely to investigate these FIRs and probe if these people belonged to any terrorist organisation.
