Bengal's former Chief Secretary Alapan gets show-cause notice under the Disaster Management Act

The faceoff between West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues and the faceoff is now only escalating. West Bengal govt's Former Chief Secretary Alapan Bandhopadhyay has now been served another show-cause notice. Alapan has been served a notice under the Disaster Management Act and has been asked to respond to the notice in three days. This comes days after PM Modi chaired a review meeting for Cyclone Yaas in the state of West Bengal and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stoked a row. TMC MP Sougata Roy has reacted to the show-cause notice issued to Alapan and has stated that the former Chief Secretary is now retired and will be able to explain his stance well.
